A different mindset is required when creating photos under an overcast sky. Blue skies portray positive, cheerful, and overall colorful vibes. Overcast skies, on the other hand, depict a more moody perspective. With this in mind, when composing under grey clouds like those in this photo, my goal is to draw out the darker colors within the camera’s frame. This adds to the moodiness in the photo and plays well off of the stark, colorless sky.
