Perfect Symmetry

In 1903, Teddy Roosevelt traveled to Yosemite and traversed the park for several days with John Muir. After camping underneath the giant sequoia trees that populate the park, Roosevelt compared the experience to “lying in a great solemn cathedral, far vaster and more beautiful than any built by the hands of man.”

After spending only a few days in Yosemite myself, I can only reiterate the president’s eloquent words. No other park is quite like Yosemite with its giant sequoias, sun-glazed granite rock face, and of course the numerous roaring waterfalls.
