Half Dome from Union Point
Half Dome. There is no other rock formation in the world quite like it. Rising 8,800 feet above sea level, Half Dome is an icon of Yosemite National Park and a popular climbing destination.
When planning our trip, we had to figure out which trails to hike with the limited amount of time we had available to us. We decided to hike to Glacier Point because of its breathtaking view of the Valley and Half Dome. We left before dawn and traversed the switchback trails that zigzagged up the cliff. Unfortunately, the trails up to Glacier Point were closed because of snowfall so we only made it as far as Union Point. Can’t complain with views like these, though.
