My favorite time to capture landscape photos is post-sunset or pre-sunrise. Why? First, I don’t have to deal with sun flares creeping into the camera’s frame from the dipping sun. Also, I can capture the greatest amount of light and color from the sun on the clouds, like in this picture. Landscape photography requires lots of planning and scoping before the actual picture is even taken. I have found that looking at the weather forecast can be a huge help. Some of the best landscape photos are taken just minutes after a storm clears away and the sun sprays its light on the clouds.
